Tardi finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tardi defeated Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) 5-3, then won 7-1 against Cameron de Jong (Victoria, BC). Tardi went on to lose 4-3 against Paul Cseke (Kelowna, BC). Tardi lost 4-2 to Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) where Tardi responded with a 5-1 win over Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
