To advance to the championship game, Peterson won 5-3 over Jamie Sinclair (Charlotte, NC) in the semifinals of the 2021 Curl Mesabi Classic in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States;
 
Peterson finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson lost 7-5 to Madison Bear (Chaska, MN), then responded with a 11-1 win over Sara Olson (Potomac, MD). Peterson won 5-4 against Kim Rhyme (Minneapolis, MN), then won 7-1 against Delaney Strouse (Minneapolis , MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Curl Mesabi Classic Championship title, Peterson earned 28.519 world rankings points along with the $5,178CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 8th place overall with 284.438 total points. Peterson ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 161.725 points earned so far this season.
