In their opening game, Christensen defeated Stephanie Senneker (Kalamazoo, MI) 6-3, then won 7-3 against Rachel Workin (Fargo, ND) and 7-0 against Christine McMakin (Fargo, ND). Christensen won 7-4 against Jamie Sinclair (Charlotte, NC) in their final qualifying round match.
