Korte lost 7-6 to Manitoba's Kerry Burtnyk where Korte responded with a 10-2 win over Ontario's Chad McMullan. Korte won 7-6 against Saskatchewan's Glen Despins. Korte went on to lose 2-1 against Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
