To advance to the championship game, Schut won 6-5 over Adam McEachren (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2020 Oak Island Junior Mens Cashspiel in Chester, Nova Scotia;
 
Schut finished 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schut lost 8-3 to Nick Mosher (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 7-4 win over Ryan Strang (Lower Sackville, NS). Schut won 7-3 against Calan MacIsaac (Truro, NS), then won 6-5 against Weagle in their final qualifying round match.
 
Schut ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
