Robert Desjardins (Saguenay, QC) lost 6-1 to Paul Flemming (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the Dave Jones Stanhope Simpson Insurance Mayflower Cashspiel, held October 21 - 24, 2021 at the Mayflower Curling Club in Timberlea, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Desjardins won 9-8 over Jason Camm (Navan, ON) in the semifinals   of the 2021 Dave Jones Stanhope Simpson Insurance Mayflower Cashspiel in Timberlea, Nova Scotia, Canada; and won 7-4 over Travis Colter (Halifax, NS) in the quarterfinals.  
 
Desjardins finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Desjardins defeated Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS) 7-4, then won 9-4 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON). Desjardins went on to lose 7-3 against Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB). Desjardins lost 7-3 to Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) where Desjardins responded with a 6-5 win over Dexter in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Dave Jones Stanhope Simpson Insurance Mayflower Cashspiel, Desjardins take home 20.785 world rankings points along with the $2,800CDN prize, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 67th place overall with 44.599 total points. Desjardins ranks 38th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.860 points earned so far this season.
