Retornaz responded with a 10-4 win over John Shuster (Chaska, USA). Retornaz won 10-3 against Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN). Retornaz went on to lose 9-4 against Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Retornaz earned 16.289 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 17th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 11.169 after improving upon their best so far this season. Retornaz ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 158.206 points earned so far this season.
