Muirhead finished 5-4 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead lost 6-5 to Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI), then responded with a 8-2 win over Hasselborg. Muirhead went on to lose 9-7 against Eunjung Kim (Gangneung, KOR). Muirhead responded with a 10-5 win over Tabitha Peterson (St. Paul, USA). Muirhead won 7-2 against Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN). Muirhead went on to lose 7-3 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, CAN). Muirhead responded with a 10-4 win over Fujisawa. Muirhead went on to lose 8-4 against Yu Han (Beijing, CHN). Muirhead responded with a 9-4 win over Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Winter Olympics Championship title, Muirhead earned 129.797 world rankings points, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 428.032 total points.
