Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN) finished 3-3 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maeda defeated Ting-Li Lin (Taiwan, TPE) 12-3, then went on to lose 8-7 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR). Maeda responded with a 5-3 win over Sergio Vez (Vitoria-Gasteiz, ESP). Maeda went on to lose 10-8 against Sergei Glukhov (Moscow, RUS). Maeda lost 8-1 to Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) where Maeda responded with a 6-4 win over Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED) in their final qualifying round match.

Maeda earned 1.519 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 196th place overall with 10.201 total points. Maeda ranks 176th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.000 points earned so far this season.
