Sergei Glukhov (Moscow, RUS) finished 5-1 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Glukhov defeated Sergio Vez (Vitoria-Gasteiz, ESP) 8-4, then won 9-4 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Glukhov went on to lose 7-4 against Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Glukhov responded with a 10-8 win over Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN). Glukhov won 10-5 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR), then won 7-2 against Ting-Li Lin (Taiwan, TPE) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the World Qualification Event Championship title, Glukhov earned 10.125 world rankings points, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 41st place overall with 85.229 total points. Glukhov ranks 49th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 59.644 points earned so far this season.
