Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) lost 8-5 to Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships, held November 20 - 27, 2021 in Lillehammer, Norway. To advance to the championship game, Edin won 6-3 over Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA) in the semifinals of the 2022 Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships in Lillehammer, Norway;
 
Edin finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin lost 6-2 to Mouat, then responded with a 9-5 win over Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN). Edin won 7-1 against Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN), then won 7-2 against Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) and 6-4 against Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR). Edin won 9-6 against Sixten Totzek (Munich, GER). Edin went on to lose 7-2 against Retornaz. Edin responded with a 8-7 win over Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Edin won 8-2 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships, Edin take home 51.555 world rankings points, remaining in 5th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 14.863 after improving upon their best so far this season. Edin ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 150.976 points earned so far this season.
