Johan Nygren (Umea, SWE) qualified for the 2022 Swedish Curling Men's Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 10-5 against Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE).  of the 2022 Swedish Curling Men's Championship in Harnosand, Sweden; 
 
Nygren finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nygren defeated Emil Markusson (Ostersund, SWE) 8-5, then went on to lose 6-4 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Nygren lost 8-7 to Simon Granbom (Stockholm, SWE) where Nygren responded with a 8-1 win over Markusson. Nygren won 5-4 against Nicklas Soderberg (Skelleftea, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Nygren earned 11.286 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Swedish Curling Men's Championship, moving up 340 spots the World Ranking Standings into 178th place overall with 11.286 total points. Nygren ranks 176th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.286 points earned so far this season.
