CHAMPION: Paetz/Michel Wins 2022 Swiss Curling Championship

Alina Paetz/Sven Michel (Aarau, SUI) won 8-7 over Briar Huerlimann/Yannick Schwaller (Solothun, SUI) in the Final Paetz/Michel advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Swiss Curling Championship, held March 3 - 6, 2022 in Biel / Bienne, Switzerland.

Paetz/Michel finished 6-0 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Paetz/Michel defeated Irene Schori/Mario Freiberger (Limmattal, SUI) 8-2, then won 8-6 against Daniela Rupp/Kevin Wunderlin (Zug, SUI) and 9-8 against Lea Hueppi/Jonas Weiss (Dubedorf, SUI). Paetz/Michel won 8-4 against Huerlimann/Schwaller, then won 7-6 against Jenny Perret/Martin Rios (Glarus, SUI) and 8-2 against Selina Witschonke/Simon Gloor (St. Moritz, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Swiss Curling Championship Championship title, Paetz/Michel earned 38.531 world rankings points, remaining in 777th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 14.654 after improving upon their best so far this season. Paetz/Michel ranks 48th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.532 points earned so far this season.
