To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 9-4 over Darren Moulding (Lacombe, AB) in the semifinals of the 2022 Boston Pizza Alberta Curling Tour Championship in Leduc, Alberta, Canada;
 
Sturmay finished 4-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Dallan Muyres (Fox Valley, SK) 8-4, then went on to lose 7-1 against Moulding. Sturmay responded with a 5-4 win over Warren Cross (Edmonton, AB). Sturmay won 6-2 against Ryan Parent (Edmonton, AB), then won 7-1 against Moulding in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Boston Pizza Alberta Curling Tour Championship Championship title, Sturmay earned 34.094 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque. Sturmay move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 31.577 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 22nd overall with 133.765 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
