To advance to the championship game, Neil/McDonald won 9-3 over Lauren Wasylkiw/Shane Konings (Unionville, ON) in the semifinals of the 2021 St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-7 over Joanne Tarvit/Brodie Tarvit (St Thomas, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada;
Neil/McDonald finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Neil/McDonald defeated Katie Cottrill/Shawn Cottrill (Wingham, ON) 6-4, then won 8-6 against Carrie Robertson/Alex Robertson (Stratford, ON) and 8-5 against Catherine Liscumb/Chris Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
