Sixten Totzek (Munich, GER) finished 6-6 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Totzek defeated Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED) 13-7, then went on to lose 9-4 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE). Totzek responded with a 8-3 win over Korey Dropkin (Duluth, USA). Totzek won 11-4 against Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Totzek went on to lose 6-4 against Kyle Waddell (Stirling, SCO). Totzek lost 11-7 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN). Totzek lost 7-2 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Totzek lost 11-8 to Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) where Totzek responded with a 10-7 win over Tobias Thune (Hvidovre, DEN). Totzek won 10-6 against Magnus Ramsfjell (Lillehammer, NOR), then won 10-3 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Totzek went on to lose 10-4 against Soo-Hyuk Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Totzek earned 22.587 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Totzek move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 15.538 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 20th overall with 137.029 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
