Gosgens went on to lose 7-2 against Tobias Thune (Hvidovre, DEN). Gosgens lost 9-8 to Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) where Gosgens responded with a 8-7 win over Soo-Hyuk Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Gosgens earned 11.293 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 37 of the event schedule, Gosgens did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
