Roy finished 4-0 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Roy defeated Camil Palin (Val-d'Or, QC) 8-2, then won 7-1 against Gerry Savoie (Val-d'Or, QC) and 8-1 against Denis Duval (Val-d'Or, QC). Roy won 7-2 against Zackary Wise (Montreal , QC) in their final qualifying round match.
