Fenton finished 3-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fenton defeated Chinese Taipei's Samuel Chang 7-2, then won 7-2 against Chris Parkinson (Victoria, BC). Fenton went on to lose 6-5 against Connor Kent (Richmond, BC). Fenton responded with a 6-5 win over Deane in their final qualifying round match.
