Madiyar Korabayev (Almaty, KAZ) finished 2-2 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Korabayev defeated Michael Kraehenbuehl (Sao Paolo, BRA) 10-2, then went on to lose 7-4 against Danil Dmitrev (Bishkek City, KGZ). Korabayev lost 10-4 to Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR) where Korabayev responded with a 6-5 win over Ting-Li Lin (Taiwan, TPE) in their final qualifying round match.

Korabayev earned 1.310 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 41 spots the World Ranking Standings into 268th place overall with 2.783 total points. Korabayev ranks 184th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.310 points earned so far this season.
