Burgess lost 9-5 to Alex Forrest (Winnipeg, MB). Burgess lost 5-4 to Jean-Michel Menard (Levis, QC) where Burgess responded with a 7-4 win over Craig MacAlpine (Edmonton, AB). Burgess won 6-5 against Jamie Newson (Charlottetown, PEI), then won 4-3 against Keith Ryan (Labrador City, NL) and 9-5 against Terry Miller (Whitehorse, YK) in their final qualifying round match.
