James Pougher (Deeside, WAL) qualified for the 2022 Le Gruyere AOP European B Curling Championships playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-4 against Sergio Vez (Vitoria-Gasteiz, ESP). of the 2022 Le Gruyere AOP European B Curling Championships in Lillehammer, Norway;
 
Pougher finished 4-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pougher defeated Eddy Mercier (Lyon, FRA) 5-4, then won 9-1 against Slovenia's Jure Culic. Pougher went on to lose 10-7 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR). Pougher lost 9-4 to Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT) where Pougher responded with a 7-3 win over Reto Seiler (Sofia, BUL). Pougher went on to lose 9-5 against Slovakia's Pavol Pitonak. Pougher responded with a 9-4 win over Andrew Woolston (Kent, ENG) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Pougher earned 10.688 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Le Gruyere AOP European B Curling Championships, moving up 118 spots the World Ranking Standings into 185th place overall with 13.360 total points. Pougher ranks 151st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.688 points earned so far this season.
