Minato Hayamizu (Karuizawa, JPN) lost 8-6 to Riku Yanagisawa (karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the Chubu Curling Championships, held April 21 - 24, 2022 in Chubu, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Hayamizu won 9-6 over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2022 Chubu Curling Championships in Chubu, Japan;

Hayamizu finished 3-2 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hayamizu defeated Hitoshi Ishihara (Karuizawa, JPN) 12-3, then went on to lose 7-6 against Yanagisawa. Hayamizu lost 7-2 to Morozumi where Hayamizu responded with a 9-1 win over Hirotaka Ishikuro (Karuizawa, JPN). Hayamizu won 6-3 against Kazuya Uehara (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Chubu Curling Championships, Hayamizu take home 2.888 world rankings points, moving up 180 spots the World Ranking Standings into 291st place overall with 2.888 total points. Hayamizu ranks 291st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.888 points earned so far this season.
