Yumiko Kashiwagi (Karuizawa, JPN) lost 6-5 to Asuka Kanai (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the Chubu Curling Championships, held April 21 - 24, 2022 in Chubu, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Kashiwagi won 14-2 over Yoko Miura (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2022 Chubu Curling Championships in Chubu, Japan;

Kashiwagi finished 3-1 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kashiwagi defeated Miura 8-3, then won 9-2 against Yui Miyagawa (Karuizawa, JPN) and 8-6 against Aya Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN). Kashiwagi went on to lose 8-4 against Kanai in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Chubu Curling Championships, Kashiwagi take home 2.063 world rankings points. For week 39 of the event schedule, Kashiwagi did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
