Mitchell won 11-6 against Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB). Mitchell went on to lose 7-6 against Chase MacMillan (Cornwall, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

Mitchell earned 14.131 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Canadian Junior World Qualifier, moving up 33 spots the World Ranking Standings into 99th place overall with 40.221 total points.
