To advance to the championship game, Carey/Hodgson won 9-5 over Nancy Martin/Tyrel Griffith (Saskatoon , SK) in the semifinals of the 2021 Cooper Equipment Mixed Doubles Cashspiel in Brantford, Ontario; and won 7-5 over Lisa Weagle/John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 Cooper Equipment Mixed Doubles Cashspiel in Brantford, Ontario;

Carey/Hodgson finished 3-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey/Hodgson lost 10-4 to Taylor McDonald/Geoff Walker (Edmonton, AB), droppimg another game, 10-3 to Kira Brunton/Brett Lyon-Hatcher (Ottawa, ON) where Carey/Hodgson responded with a 8-6 win over Lori Eddy/Joey Rettinger (Dundas, ON). Carey/Hodgson won 7-5 against Lyndsey Wilson/Scott Dow (Palmerston , ON), then won 7-6 against Megan Smith/Matthew Hall (Kitchener, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Cooper Equipment Mixed Doubles Cashspiel, Carey/Hodgson take home 37.158 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN prize, remaining in 778th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 51.757 total points. Carey/Hodgson ranks 31st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 48.892 points earned so far this season.
