In their opening game, Burton defeated Cortland Sonnenberg (Grande Prairie, AB) 7-4, then went on to lose 7-2 against Wyatt Wright (Cochrane, AB). Burton responded with a 6-3 win over Lowell Whittmire (Lethbridge, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
