Hoesli finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hoesli lost 6-5 to Schwaller, then responded with a 9-1 win over Kristof Czermann (Budapest, HUN). Hoesli won 6-2 against Totzek, then won 8-4 against Benny Kapp (Fuessen, GER) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the St. Galler Elite Challenge Championship title, Hoesli earned 26.706 world rankings points along with the $2,761CDN first prize cheque.
