To advance to the championship game, Schwaller won 6-2 over Luca Rizzolli (Trentino, ITA) in the semifinals of the 2022 St. Galler Elite Challenge in St. Gallen, Switzerland; and won 9-2 over Mark Watt (Perth, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
 
Schwaller finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller lost 7-5 to James Craik (Stirling, SCO), droppimg another game, 8-6 to Dean Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) where Schwaller responded with a 8-5 win over Andrin Schnider (Schauffhausen, SUI). Schwaller won 7-4 against Rizzolli in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the St. Galler Elite Challenge, Schwaller take home 19.584 world rankings points along with the $1,657CDN prize, remaining in 14th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 10.411 after improving upon their best so far this season. Schwaller ranks 18th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 115.402 points earned so far this season.
