To advance to the championship game, Kessel won 7-6 over Savanna Taylor (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2022 Saskatchewan Junior Womens Provincials in Martensville, Saskatchewan;
 
Kessel finished 4-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kessel lost 7-5 to Kleiter, then responded with a 8-2 win over Kaydence Lalonde (Saskatoon, SK). Kessel won 8-7 against Claudia Lacell (Moose Jaw, SK), then won 7-4 against Emily Haupstein (Saskatoon, SK) and 6-5 against Taylor in their final qualifying round match.
