John Shuster (Duluth, MN) won 7-4 over Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic, held November 3 - 7, 2022 at the Penticton Curling Club in Penticton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Shuster won 8-5 over Jacques Gauthier (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals of the 2022 Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-6 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada;
Shuster finished 3-2 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Blaine Black (Penticton, BC) 9-1, then won 8-4 against Mike McEwen (Toronto, ON) and 6-4 against Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC). Shuster went on to lose 5-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Shuster lost 7-3 to Paul Cseke (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic Championship title, Shuster earned 52.500 world rankings points along with the $20,000CDN first prize cheque. Shuster move up 8 spots after posting a net gain of 36.933 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 21st overall with 135.018 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Shuster ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 72.750 points earned so far this season.
