Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2022 HearingLife Tour Challenge Tier 2 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-3 against Felix Asselin (Montreal, QC).

Sturmay finished 2-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Johnson Tao (Edmonton, AB) 5-2, then went on to lose 6-2 against Asselin. Sturmay responded with a 6-3 win over Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB). Sturmay went on to lose 7-2 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Sturmay earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the HearingLife Tour Challenge Tier 2. For week 12 of the event schedule, Sturmay did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 20th to 21st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 142.245 total points. Sturmay ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 66.000 points earned so far this season.
