Sluchinski won 7-3 against Reid Carruthers (Morris, MB), then won 7-4 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) to advance to a B-Qualifier game where they lost 4-3 against Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they lost 6-3 to Flasch in their final qualifying round match.
 
Sluchinski earned 10.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 16 of the event schedule, Sluchinski did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 26th place on the World Ranking Standings with 121.333 total points. Sluchinski ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 91.500 points earned so far this season.
