Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) won 6-2 over Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC) in the Final of the King Cash Spiel, held December 2 - 4, 2022 at the Golden Ears Curling Club in Maple Ridge, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Yanagisawa won 7-3 over Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals of the 2022 King Cash Spiel in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-6 over Cameron de Jong (Penticton, BC) in the quarterfinals.
 
Yanagisawa finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yanagisawa defeated Montgomery 4-3, then won 5-1 against Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO) and 10-1 against Steve Strathdee (Penticton, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the King Cash Spiel Championship title, Yanagisawa earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 18 of the event schedule, Yanagisawa did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 34th to 36th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 95.991 total points. Yanagisawa ranks 23rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 84.000 points earned so far this season.
