To advance to the championship game, Abe won 6-0 over Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2022 Driving Force Decks Int'l Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 6-1 over Paul Cseke (Victoria, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Driving Force Decks Int'l Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada;
Abe finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Abe defeated Chris Medford (Kimberley, BC) 6-3, then won 8-3 against Matthew McCrady (New Westminster , BC) and 7-6 against Cseke in their final qualifying round match.
