To advance to the championship game, Kitazawa won 7-0 over Taylor Reese-Hansen (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals of the 2022 Driving Force Decks Int'l Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 9-3 over Shiella Cowan (New Westminister, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 Driving Force Decks Int'l Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Kitazawa finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kitazawa defeated Shawna Jensen (Greater Vancouver, BC) 8-0, then won 11-1 against Donna Mychaluk (Langley, BC) and 7-4 against Cowan. Kitazawa went on to lose 7-6 against Reese-Hansen in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Driving Force Decks Int'l Abbotsford Cashspiel, Kitazawa take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $2,600CDN prize.
