Kitazawa finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kitazawa defeated Shawna Jensen (Greater Vancouver, BC) 8-0, then won 11-1 against Donna Mychaluk (Langley, BC) and 7-4 against Cowan. Kitazawa went on to lose 7-6 against Reese-Hansen in their final qualifying round match.
