Cristina Lestander (Bern, SUI) won 6-5 over Margie Smith (Duluth, USA) in the Final of the World Senior Womens Curling Championship, held April 23 - 30, 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland. To advance to the championship game, Lestander won 7-6 over Edith Hazard (Edinburgh, SCO) in the semifinals   of the 2022 World Senior Womens Curling Championship in Geneva, Switzerland; and won 8-5 over Ireland's Dale Sinclair in the quarterfinals.  of the 2022 World Senior Womens Curling Championship in Geneva, Switzerland; 
 
Lestander finished 3-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lestander lost 10-9 to Gunta Millere (Riga, LAT), then responded with a 12-2 win over Gaiva Valatkiene (Vilnius, LTU). Lestander won 6-5 against Smith, then won 7-2 against Judith Dixon (Kent, ENG). Lestander went on to lose 7-5 against Elina Virtaala (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Lestander ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
