In their opening game, Dunsford/Sanderson defeated Steve Murray/Harold Smallwood (Moncton, NB) 7-1, then won 9-1 against Dan McDonald/Warren Johnson (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-5 against Ron Schwartz/Lorna Schwartz (Parksville, BC). Dunsford/Sanderson went on to lose 7-3 against Martin Purvis/Jack Smart (Calgary, AB). Dunsford/Sanderson responded with a 7-1 win over Fred Gallant/Frank Armstrong (Fredericton, NB).
