Dropkin finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dropkin defeated Sobering 11-2, then won 8-1 against Evan Jensen (Raleigh, NC) and 5-4 against Wesley Wendling (Steven Point, WI). Dropkin won 7-4 against Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Curl Mesabi Classic Championship title, Dropkin earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $8,160CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 11th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.5 after improving upon their best so far this season. Dropkin ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 154.000 points earned so far this season.
