In their opening game, Murphy defeated Theresa Breen (Halifax, NS) 9-1, then won 11-8 against Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) and 10-5 against Samantha Crook (Sackville, NB). Murphy won 8-7 against Stevens, then won 7-1 against Tanya Hilliard (Dartmouth, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Dave Jones Stanhope Simpson Insurance Mayflower Cashspiel Championship title, Murphy earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $1,950CDN first prize cheque.
