Sergio Vez (San Sebastian, ESP) 6-5, then won 7-5 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE). Karagoz went on to lose 11-3 against Yannick Schwaller (Geneva, SUI). Karagoz lost 9-4 to Joel Retornaz (Trento, ITA). Karagoz lost 10-4 to Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) where Karagoz responded with a 11-4 win over Sixten Totzek (Fuessen, GER). Karagoz won 6-1 against Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN). Karagoz went on to lose 10-2 against Oskar Eriksson (Karlstad, SWE). Karagoz lost 10-6 to Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Karagoz earned 12.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
