To advance to the championship game, Deruelle won 8-4 over Landan Rooney (Whitby, ON) in the semifinals of the 2022 COMCO Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-4 over Jordan Chandler (Little Current, NONT) in the quarterfinals.

Deruelle finished 2-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Deruelle lost 5-4 to Switzerland's Jan Iseli, then responded with a 8-4 win over Ferris. Deruelle won 8-6 against Dennis Moretto (Woodbridge, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the COMCO Cash Spiel, Deruelle take home 13.750 world rankings points along with the $1,700CDN prize.
