Hayato Sato (Sapporo, JPN) won 6-3 over Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) in the Final of the ADVICS Cup, held September 8 - 11, 2022 in Tokoro, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Sato won 5-2 over Hiroyuki Honda (Kitami, JPN) in the semifinals

Sato finished 4-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sato defeated Kohsuke Hirata (Kitami, JPN) 3-2, then won 6-2 against Japan's Toa Nakahara and 4-2 against Naomasa Takeda (Hokkaido, JPN). Sato won 7-4 against Japan's Kotaro Noguchi in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the ADVICS Cup Championship title, Sato earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $9,101CDN first prize cheque.
