Benny Kapp (Fuessen/Oberstdorf , GER) finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kapp lost 10-5 to James Craik (Stirling, SCO), droppimg another game, 8-7 to Yves Stocker (Zug, SUI) where Kapp responded with a 6-4 win over Giacomo Colli (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA). Kapp won 7-3 against Dean Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
