Burns won 10-3 against Emily Deschenes (Ottawa, ON). Burns went on to lose 6-4 against Isabelle Ladouceur (Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Burns earned 3.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 17 spots the World Ranking Standings into 102nd place overall with 17.558 total points. Burns ranks 47th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.500 points earned so far this season.
