Alex Champ (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) won 6-0 over Greg Smith (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Stu Sells Port Elgin Superspiel, held November 18 - 20, 2022 at the Port Elgin Curling Club in Port Elgin, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Champ won 6-2 over John Willsey (Oakville, ON) in the semifinals   of the 2022 Stu Sells Port Elgin Superspiel in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-4 over Rob Ainsley (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals.  
 
Champ finished 3-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Champ defeated Michael Fournier (Toronto, ON) 6-2, then won 7-6 against Paul Moffatt (Waterloo, ON) and 7-3 against Dayna Deruelle (Harriston, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Stu Sells Port Elgin Superspiel Championship title, Champ earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 46 spots the World Ranking Standings into 86th place overall with 43.658 total points. Champ ranks 63rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 35.188 points earned so far this season.
