To advance to the championship game, Papley/van Amsterdam won 9-4 over Serena Gray-Withers/Andrew Gittis (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2022 U25 NextGen Classic in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 6-3 over Myla Plett/Ky Macaulay (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 U25 NextGen Classic in Edmonton, Alberta;
 
Papley/van Amsterdam finished 5-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Papley/van Amsterdam defeated Claire Randell/Nicholas Lemieux (St. Catharines, ON) 7-1, then won 10-2 against Plett/Macaulay and 8-6 against British Columbia's Emily Bowles/Sterling Middleton. Papley/van Amsterdam won 8-1 against Emma Wiens/Andrew Nowell (Weyburn, SK), then won 9-3 against Ontario's Sarah Bailey/Dylan Sipura in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the U25 NextGen Classic, Papley/van Amsterdam take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize. For week 5 of the event schedule, Papley/van Amsterdam did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
