Jessica Zheng/Victor Pietrangelo (Niagara Falls, ON) won 9-4 over Paige Papley/Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the U25 NextGen Classic, held September 3 - 5, 2022 in Edmonton, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Zheng/Pietrangelo won 9-8 over Madison Kleiter/Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2022 U25 NextGen Classic in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 9-1 over British Columbia's Emily Bowles/Sterling Middleton in the quarterfinals.
 
Zheng/Pietrangelo finished 4-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Zheng/Pietrangelo defeated Cheryl Damen/Tyler van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) 9-5, then went on to lose 9-7 against Kleiter/Kleiter. Zheng/Pietrangelo responded with a 8-4 win over Alberta's Catherine Clifford/Desmond Young. Zheng/Pietrangelo won 10-9 against Alyssa Nedohin/Jaxon Hiebert (Sherwood Park, AB), then won 9-1 against British Columbia's Megan McGillivray/Logan Miron in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the U25 NextGen Classic Championship title, Zheng/Pietrangelo earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 5 of the event schedule, Zheng/Pietrangelo did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Zheng/Pietrangelo ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
