Smith/Deane lost 10-4 to Jessica Shipmaker/Mike Aprile (Mississauga, ON) where Smith/Deane responded with a 11-2 win over Julie Benson/Bret Jackson (Brighton, MI) in their final qualifying round match.

Smith/Deane earned 3.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 20 of the event schedule, Smith/Deane did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
