Neil/McDonald finished 4-1 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Neil/McDonald defeated Gina Kim/Tim Luu (Toronto, ON) 8-1, then won 11-1 against Harley Rohrbacher/Vincent Scebbi (Cleveland, OH) and 6-2 against Grace Lloyd/Landan Rooney (Mississauga, ON). Neil/McDonald went on to lose 8-2 against Lyndsey Wilson/Scott Dow (Palmerston , ON). Neil/McDonald responded with a 8-6 win over Katie Cottrill/Shawn Cottrill (Belgrave, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the St. Thomas Mixed Doubles Classic, Neil/McDonald take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN prize, dropping 175 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 723rd place overall with 26.300 total points.
